Horses

Sadly, I didn't get to grow up around horses.  I broke into the world of horses thanks to a chance reunion with an old high school friend while living in Edmonton in my early 30s.  I followed her to her barn and became the oldest barn rat in the place.  Everyone was kind and generous with their knowledge.  When I finished school and came back to the Vancouver area to start putting my diploma to use, it took me a few years to start being able to afford lessons again.

Another chance reunion with an old work colleague connected me to the my first lease horse, Triskia, a kind and patient grey mare who will forever have a place in my heart.  Through that barn family I ended up meeting a chestnut filly, who I later ended up buying and naming Ginny, and also acquiring my tabby cat, Arwen.

Art

I started out with pencil sketching in childhood and eventually went on to doing nail art, hair and makeup artistry, and now watercolor and large canvas abstract painting.

Nowadays, my focus is digital creativity.  I my spare (ha ha) time I do digital drawing and painting and will be launching my own equestrian fabric designs later this year.

I also have been helping some friends of mine with their logo design, branding, and website creation for their small businesses.  Feel free to check out my website on silveranderson.com.
